Ben Wolf of Topiary Productions: I was just involved on a shoot with a Phantom camera, which is a high speed camera. I was handling a RED and there was another guy operating a Phantom... A lot of these technical things, it’s just a matter of having the right collaboration who can smooth out some of those bumps. The basic concerns of cinematography are still the same, to me it’s about lighting and composition and and how you move the camera. Beyond that, the menus of the camera are things you can get out of a manual. You want to have somebody on set who knows the particular quirks of the particular camera... The RED has been the exciting camera to own over the past year or two.
